- Have to call it "one left" or something but I can say it follows all the Uno® rules
- Need to have my own card art
- Can even have website at .uno TLD :-)
- Goal is just to demonstrate some of my p2p tech ideas. Would be neat if this became the TodoMVC of p2p since it has all the basic elements.
- Well, this isn't really p2p, more like self-hosting, but meh
- It is a desktop app that, at first, has both a terminal front and a webview front
- Term front uses go-isatty to check if in term vs GUI and which to start
- GUI for now is local webapp leveraging webview (so it must remain IE compat)
- Could have any other UI in the future, so abstract this of course
- Only hosts need a desktop app, because it hosts web UI on onion service via https://github.com/cretz/bine
- Clients (i.e. non-hosts) can use the desktop app, or they can use a Tor browser (e.g. TBB, Orfox, Onion Browser, etc) from anywhere
- Discovery is a bit difficult
- One way for friends is to have a non-announced version and give the onion address to their friends (text message, qr code, etc)
- Another way is to announce it on a DHT. I'm thinking the BitTorrent mainline DHT (so in-browser clients can leverage webtorrent)
- Would just be one big info hash of peers
- Could even have an info hash of friendly name (w/ identifier for this software appended) and support exact-string searching, but can't prevent squatting or multiple names per item
- Social features:
- player names (no uniqueness validation of course)
- text-only chat (high sanitization requirements of course)...clients can hide
- This can roll over in memory
- avatar (optional, clients can hide em all from others for obvious reasons)
- Entire thing in memory for now
- Future
- Blockchain-based scoring/reputation
