Enhancement: handle disconnects

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. join IRC
2. wait for, e.g. socket timeout

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I'd like to have a capability to wait for some time, then reconnect with
the parameters of the last connect. (Wait time to account for
anti-autoreconnect rules, as well as allowing the connection server side to
time out.)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system
(ADP1.1, RC33 USA, RC9 UK)? Is your phone rooted?

(German HTC G1)

Please provide any additional information below.

I noticed the issue while in a rather difficult cell coverage area - the
connection mode was hopping between G3, Edge and GSM.

For some reason, I couldn't change the type to enhancement - it seems to 
default to
"defect"...
