--version with typer wouldn't work no matter what approach I took. version will keep the same uniform with the other commands.

Excellent work here @Bchass. Good call on version. Love that you added a test.

I'll merge this because we need this functionality urgently, but I'll file a couple of follow-up issues related to this which you are welcome to take if no one else does. One will be about converting this test to pytest, and the other will be about version .

You can assign me to the task when you file it. Converting to pytest will be easy. Interested where you want to take version
