Feature request: Tab groups #455

I don't know whether this is possible, but I would love to be able to create a keyboard shortcut for "Add tab to new group". Other tab group management would be welcome as well, but this is the one I use the most. Looks like the extension doesn't support this at the moment.

+1, I was hoping to remap "ctrl + t" to "New Tab In Group"

If there's a way to do this w/ custom javascript I'm also ok with trying that

Supporting tab groups would be a great addition, looks like there were two other people who agreed as well.

I'd love to implement this. Would make my life so much better. I'll see what I can do in my free time

Edit: No longer using Shortkeys, I didn't get to work too much on this before I decided to move away from the extension.

I'm very pleased that setting Shortkeys' next/previous tab shortcut will open an adjacent closed tab group. The native Chrome shortcut for next/previous tab simply skips closed tab groups!

However, what would make me very, VERY pleased is if a tab group would collapse when I leave it! That way only one tab group is open at a time. I can imagine that it would be very visually and tactically satisfying to have tab groups opening and closing across the window at the click of 1-3 buttons.

With the addition of saved tab groups, I believe tab group functionality is going to become more and more popular. There are nearly no native keyboard shortcuts for tab groups. This would be a huge win to add shortcuts such as save group on/off, hide/close tab group, collapse tab group, etc.
