Adds build.sh and clean.sh scripts Addresses format string bugs in logging in the examples Detect errors opening the log / prevent writing on failure. Fixes various compiler warnings

Heh, actually I've not used DDI much so it wasn't bothering me. I'm glad everyone else gets the changes tho! Especially @t0kt0ckus in response to #5 =)
