I did try to reset the Kodi database by going to PKC Settings -> Advanced -> "Reset the database and optionally reset PlexKodiConnect" and then hitting YES, NO
Specifically, if I use Plex and select "more" to enable a SRT subtitle from opensubtitles in Plex for a video, the first time I play the file through PKC, the subtitle selection is set back to NONE on the Plex Server (which in effect means you can only use the opensubtitles SRT on playback exactly 1 time and will need to download it again via a Plex client).
I've verified this occurs on Kodi 20 & 21 with both the latest STABLE & BETA of PKC.
As suggested in other forums, I made sure the PKC addon is configured to use the PLEX subtitle setting (though I note on initial playback it does not). On the first playback, the opensubtitle SRT is available to be selected in Kodi by manually enabling subtitles, but it is not automatically selected/enabled. After initial playback, the subtitle setting is switched back to NONE in Plex and the opensubtitle SRT is lost. As suggested elsewhere, I also tried setting the preferred subtitle language to English and selected "use as default" on initial playback, once the opensubtitle SRT was selected. I tried various permutations with no change.
Expected behavior
I would expect the opensubtitle srt to be automatically used when playing the video back if it was previously configured in Plex, and for the subtitle selection in Plex to remain as-is (this is how official Plex clients behave).
