Xiphos is a Bible study tool written for Linux, UNIX, and Windows using GTK, offering a rich and featureful environment for reading, study, and research using modules from The SWORD Project and elsewhere.
In addition of having Study pad floating, consider it also "locking" in place (similar to the dictionary) in the bottom right corner when selected via "VIEW" menu.
Double clicking "study pad" can dislodge it to make it floating again - or there could be a 3 dot or menu item to change it from floating to static section as the user pleases.
First of all, the study pad must already be working (on debian/ubuntu). I say it with sadness, but for the moment Xiphos is abandoned. I'm the first to lament using it every day.
