Current Mission Statement on our section of the village website is this:
To maintain and improve accessibility to the Village’s streets for cyclists and walkers, young and old.
But one member reports this statement was revised to this: The BPC’s mission is to advise and recommend strategies and actions to the Board of Trustees for the maintenance and improvement of access to the Village’s streets for bicyclists, pedestrians and other non-vehicular uses.
When the second version was included in a draft of the committee's master plan revision, another member noted "This language risks excluding wheelchairs, scooters, skateboards, and is by default inclusive of e-bikes but not e-scooters... seems like we need an update to our target demographics, although it's hard to find the right language."
