27 February 2020 - Committee Chair MS emailed Mayor Brian Pugh, Village Trustee Brian Loges, and Board of Education liaison Joshua Diamond informing them of his discussion with the mother of a child who was hit by a car on Maple St while cycling to PVC. The email informed them of the specific problems with bicycle access to PVC, Principal Plotkin's unwillingness to ease the bicycle access restrictions in place at PVC that lead students to cycle on dangerous routes, and urged them to adopt short- and medium-term solutions, including allowing students specific safer access points to PVC, and pursuing the Safe Routes to School program.
20 October 2020 - during meeting, committee and Board of Education Liaison Josh Diamond agree that Josh will discuss plans to improve access to PVC with Board of Education.
31 January 2021 - committee members have proposed placing a bike rack at the rear of PVC to improve access from the direction of the High School and have mapped all approaches to the back to show the logic of the plan. The PVC Principal Plotkin seems reluctant to do this for unknown reasons.
13 April 2023 - Committee officially proposed a plan for improved bike access to and between PVC and CHHS to the Board of Education.
@mlschuer , @mattarnold1001 - was there ever any response to this proposal?

Description
Currently, students generally cycle along Maple St (Rt. 129) to reach PVC. This street is dangerous and multiple accidents between cars, cyclists, and pedestrians, are known to have occurred along this stretch near PVC. While the school recommends students avoid this road, it is the most direct way to cycle to PVC for many, given barriers or along other natural routes.
