Engage the public over social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email, etc) to bring awareness to issues of non-motorized transportation and generate interest in our recommendations and initiatives.
Update
17 June 2019 - the village, under the instructions of Mayor Pugh and the Board of Trustees, has issued a policy that states that committees are not allowed to have their own social media presence, with the odd exceptions of the volunteer fire department and volunteer EMS, who are allowed this luxury.
In village trustees meeting addressing the issue, the mayor argued that committees would be unable to garner a significant audience on social media, so the efforts were fruitless. Village Manager King raised concern that viewers may not be able to differentiate between official village communications and that of committees. It was decided to deny the request.
August 2018 - the committee officially asked Village Manager Janine King and Mayor Brian Pugh for permission to start a Facebook page.
