Support Instagram (platform feature) #19

any ongoing thoughts on this?

i'd be interested in pulling comments and favs from instagram to the instagram images that i pull into my blog. like this one or these. (i transfer the instagrams to wordpress posts through the development version of our "reclaim social media" plugin.) pulling in comments and likes from facebook works like a charme, thanks to social: example. just like pulling in retweets and replys.

posting/broadcasting to instagram does not make a lot of sense. as far as i can see, there's no API endpoint for posting images to instagram. but pulling the comments and favs would make sense, at least, if you try to "reclaim" your instagrams.

from what i'm seeing in the wp-social code, it's pretty generic and supposed to be expandable. i'm not a very good programmer, but i'd like to give it a try to try to expand wp-social. unless you have other plans or think integrating instagram is not a good idea anymore.

I'd love to get this too, but there isn't current a plan for MailChimp to extend their proxy endpoint. Perhaps someone else would like to create a proxy app/service for instagram.
