PNG images used as background-image not being compressed? #550

This is using the latest version of ModPagespeed.

Maybe I am missing something, but although compression appears to be working 
fine, when I load: 

http://www.bimomotor.com/category/

I can see that the .png images used as background images are not being 
compressed - is this normal?

I presume you mean PNGs in your CSS?

I assume you have rewrite_css enabled since we don't optimize images in CSS 
that we don't analyze/rewrite.

Regardless, the CSS fails validation for CSS2.1 which is what we mostly handle 
(we handle some CSS3 constructs but not many) and we don't optimize CSS we 
can't parse.

Yes - having addressed the CSS issue the background PNGs are correctly 
compressed - this can therefore be closed
