Images Compres fail to show and insert img data #659

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable filters recompress_images, recompress_jpeg, recompress_png
2. Set ModPagespeedJpegRecompressionQuality 45
3. Set ModPagespeedImageRecompressionQuality 45
4. Optional to enable this filters insert_image_dimensions
5. Enable ModPagespeedMapProxyDomain directive

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The image(s) didn't fetch successfully on first view, and the pages shows blank
image(s) data. After doing a couple refresh, the image(s) just showed.

What version of the product are you using (please check X-Mod-Pagespeed
header)?
mod-pagespeed-beta-1.3.25.4-2630.x86_64

On what operating system?
CentOS 6.4

Which version of Apache?
Apache/2.2.15

Which MPM?
Prefork

URL of broken page:
http://www.lintas.me (see on another pages, some article will show a blank
image data) ** see attachment **

I think that blank image occured because the original URL failed to fetch +
compressed + saved. So the page show only src="" and doesn't contain any URL **
see on firebug from attachment **

IMHO, the error images could be skipped and not compressed if the source can't
be fetched. And only show the original image only. Is it possible? or any hints
belongs to this issue?

Hi,

Could you disable "ModPagespeedMapProxyDomain" and see if the problem still
exists?

If the problem still exists, could you send me the exact URL for the broken
page, and the relevant part of "pagespeed.conf"?

Thanks!

Huibao

A correction: Please don't change your configuration including
"ModPagespeedMapProxyDomain". Please send me the exact URL for the broken page
and the relevant part of "pagespeed.conf" to help me reproduce the problem.

Thanks!

Huibao

Hello,

The URL that consists of broken pages are random, because if the pages are
refreshed by the others, the problem are invalid. You could visit www.lintas.me
and go to the other pages by pages.

You should see the broken images like my attachment above :)
Thanks hui for your help.

I had tried several random pages at www.lintas.me but couldn't observe the
problem shown in the attachments.

Could you provide the URL that you're observing the bug? I understand that
repeated view of the page will not trigger the problem, but I'll try with a
fresh browser.

In addition, could you share your pagespeed.conf?

Thanks!

Huibao

Thanks for sending the conf files!

I did see two blank area in this page:
http://otomotif.lintas.me/article/oto.detik.com/guinness-bugatti-veyron-super-sp
ort-mobil-tercepat-di-dunia?utm_source=popular_channel_&utm_medium=popular_chann
el__5&utm_campaign=stream_lintas

However, when I turn off ModPagespeed, this area are still blank. Looking at
the source I found that there are no image specified for these locations.

Could you turn off ModPagespeed and check if the page shows as you expected?

Hi huibao,

Sorry for leaving this issue so long :D I've recheck the error and the error
was coming from the origin server. They send blank data, so the mod_pagespeed
rendered nothing.

You can mark this issue as invalid issue. Thank you for your assistance :)
