Ubuntu 18.04, ASUS G73S, msvcp140.dll, ContentService.dll, no start. *solved* #43

Followed the scripts from: https://github.com/cryinkfly/Fusion-360---Linux-Wine-Version-#installation-on-ubuntu-linux-mint-

Install barfed up /massive/ numbers of fixme's but no errors or fails and it said the install finished. I can, if needed, attach the log. System info is below.

When I try to start:

You can use this also on your 64-bit system, but I see you must install the package „ cabextract“. 😊

Then this package you need for the installation!

Open a terminal and run this command:

sudo apt-get install cabextract

Ok, thanks. Reinstalling now via: cd Downloads && chmod +x fusion360-install.sh && bash fusion360-install.sh

Do I need to do the fixes in #4 and #14 after that or should I try starting it again? I guess it doesn't hurt to try starting it again.

I hope this helps the development effort and that the need for cabextract can be added to the script for others on Ubuntu 18. I'll also be trying this in the future on a different machine with Ubuntu 20, so we will see if it's needed there as well.

Well, I got further... It actually made it to a logo before it hung. I ctrl-c'd it after about 2 minutes... and there are errors in the log: wine: Call from 000000007B0113BD to unimplemented function ucrtbase.dll.feclearexcept, aborting

After I killed it, the crash handler for Fusion popped up and wanted me to make a bug report... I close it. This is not supported by them.

I do see #38 but I'm not sure what I should actually do... ? Google doesn't seem to know; "ucrtbase.dll.feclearexcept" only finds you.

I'm going to run it again and just let it sit for several minutes... Ah... same thing as #38. It crashes on it's own after a bit longer than I gave the the first time.

Even after translating that from German, I'm not sure what to do. I tried to install the first update mentioned, but Ubuntu doesn't seem to know what to do with an .msu file. I get "something went wrong" in software installer. Pardon my lack of knowledge but I'm not a long time Linux user, I've tried to make the transition away from Windows after Win 7. I've just used Ubuntu 16, and now 18 as my daily work machine. This is the first serious need I've had to run another Windows only program that wouldn't install via WINE.

Confused. The install script asks what version of Ubuntu I have and the only options are 20 and 21. Is Ubuntu 18 no longer supported? See above this issue is for 18.04 which is 18 LTS.

Ok, I re-installed using that new script. When I start it using the icon, nothing happened. So tried via the old ./fusion360-start.sh script. It got to the splash and hung. I restarted, then tried again via the old ./fusion360-start.sh script. It did the same. It keeps reporting:

0230:err:sync:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 00000000709E3538 "dlls/msvcrt/lock.c: LOCKTABLEENTRY.crit" wait timed out in thread 0230, blocked by 0110, retrying (60 sec)

over and over until I exit the terminal.

I don't see anything in the issues list about " LOCKTABLEENTRY.crit "

Is the old startup script not good to use? It's doing
