Problem: Ledger Address Mismatch #1271

Background

We received tons of reports on Ledger Address Mismatch issue, even though users have been sticking with the same Ledger Device & same Mnemonic Seed. It's basically an unexpected issue, which happens in versions after 1.2.0 (& most likely on Windows).

We cannot reproduce on a development level on our side.

Updates

Just located the cause to reproduce the issues.

To Reproduce

  1. Lock the Desktop Wallet with a Ledger type Address
  2. Unlock the Wallet

Issues will encounter:

  1. Balances goes to zero
  2. Staking rewards exists, but any txns will result in Address Mismatches
  3. Address in Asset Page -> Receive will result in App Crash
