Prepare EDEN Proposal to Protocol Labs #73

We have been encouraged to pitch the EDEN Protocol to Protocol Labs + Filecoin Foundation as a follow-up to our previous pitch to Outlier Ventures.

Note that this is a separate proposal from the Filecoin Foundation's Metatron funding. Assuming financing for the EDEN Protocol, Metatron could become a lower-level protocol to the supply-chain focused EDEN Protocol.

Thank you in advance for everyone who helps make this a success. I will be documenting the history with OV here and will be creating a Wiki page to prepare the proposal. We will also likely create a new Project to handle the EDEN Protocol initiative.

This will likely add new players to the EDENomicon; let's make sure we make them welcome and help them out as they begin to play with us.

Previous EDEN proposal that made us "runner ups". Please don't be too critical of my language, this was a real shot in the dark at the time I was writing those words. I also could not commit anyone but myself. We will be able to make a much stronger case this time around.

Another relevant document: The CannMed2020 EDEN Abstract. It has a good description of our goals and objectives. All language we can reuse here if we chose to.

There were also a number of references sent to Outlier Ventures. I'll need to re-seed some of these links. I think I created an account on Pinata for this... lol - What I really need is Filecoin to keep the files online.

I finally found a link to our original Metatron proposal. That proposal follows the Filecoin Open Grant questionnaire.

I need to update the EDENomicon with this new link: https://github.com/filecoin-project/devgrants/blob/master/open-grant-proposals/open-proposal-metatron.md. The link in the current version points to a flaxscrip branch that got deleted in the merge.

Which format do you think we'll be most eligible for: Microgrants, Open Grants or RFP?

I think RFP would be the most advantageous but I'm not sure how we could fit into either the "Developer Tooling" or "Storage Provider" categories.

@flowscience - I was planning to submit an Open Grant but let me review the RFP process.

EDEN can be see as a "Storage Provider" network. We will be using IPFS, Metatron, and Filecoin to store product information from across the supply chain.

EDIT: ok - I reviewed the RFP vs Open Grants. I believe the Open Grant is more appropriate. RFP is used for specific goals already defined and identified by Filecoin Foundation, although they say we can submit our own RFP with goals.

@Flaxscrip I expanded on my diagram and uploaded an updated PDF of the diagram and I would like to replace the old github image with this one. Can you please help me understand how to turn it into a link in github containing the prefix "https://library.edenprotocol.io/ipfs/"

Is this part of the Metatron IPFS cluster? Or the github library?

Mitchell - we already have your bio from the EDA website. If you want to change it, go to this link and click the edit button at the top. The document is in "Markdown" format. There is a tutorial link at the bottom right of the wiki screen.
