I remember reading about an idea of "Squatter's Rights" in the discord, so I thought I would start a discussion here about it since it is interesting.
There is lots of land in Cryptovoxels that remains unused with the default scaffolding, and there are also lots of interested players and artists who cannot afford their own property.
To help further build out the Cryptovoxels world, unused land could either become "public" or be claimed by someone with "Squatter's Rights". The land owner could always at any time reclaim total ownership of their land (and undo any changes), but it encourages activity and more diversity in the world. I'm afraid without this, there will always be a significant portion of land that will be left unbuilt.
I'm not sure if there is a concept of "Mayors" for neighborhoods yet, but if the above is considered they might need some moderation tools to maintain good behavior.
