I have a base model MacBook Pro 2021 with 8 CPU cores. When running high CPU loads on the machine, the sensor list displays suspiciously low temperatures for the 4th performance core. I suspect core 4 is the core Apple disabled during the binning process.
AFAIK the M1 Pro consists of two performance clusters: first cluster contains cores 1-4 while the second one contains cores 5-8. Previous versions of Macs Fan Control used to display data for all cores, including the disabled ones so it was possible to find out which ones were the disabled ones as they were noticeably cooler than the rest of cores. In my machine those were cores 4 and 8, coincidently the last cores of each performance cluster.
