I can confirm they reverted it in RC 1 :\ it was literally fine in beta 5, and RC1 was like "just kidding" it's back to not turning on fans til over 80C, but it still keeps them on til 50C so it's basically behaving way it's always behaved on M3 for me once more. so i got one beta of it working nicely.

I think it's been fixed now as on Macbook M3 Pro i can set constant RPM value as well as sensor based.

Testing auto based on eg. Airport proxmity 40-50C with docker building in bkg, works well, temps go lower and turn off. Changing values to lower 30-40C and as it never goes lower, you get constant light breeze.

I use a 2024 macbook pro 16" m3 max. It only runs when I turn it on. Once I manually adjust it, it doesn't work anymore and it can't display the CPU temperature.

+1 on the same issues. MBP 16 M3 and see only the limited sensors here (https://github.com/crystalidea/macs-fan-control/issues/716#issuecomment-2024506519) and the same fan issue - After applying any kind of custom fan will result in the same picture in that post: Fans are turning and easily audible yet the app reports 0rpm.
