hello? is anyone here? I also emailed support@crystalidea.com on April 9, but didn't get an answer yet
Sorry for the late reply, please try using the latest beta version and post logs from it. Thank you https://github.com/crystalidea/macs-fan-control/files/13905175/macsfancontrol.zip
This beta version appears to have solved the issue, it working well now, so no need to post logs! Thank you.
I wrote too soon. Fans just started running on high again after putting macbook air to sleep. I will have to download logs later too busy now.
The problem persists despite the beta. New tech log attached. Again the issue is: Pro version works properly when MacBook Air 2020 Intel i3 is open and running. If I put the MacBook to Sleep, or close the lid to go to Sleep (both), after a few seconds, the fan then runs on maximum indefinitely if Macs Fan Control Pro is running in background.
Please try the most recent beta (build 63) macsfancontrol.zip
Macs Fan Control was working as expected on this MacBook Air 13" 2020, i3, with macOS Ventura. I recently updated to macOS Sonoma 14.3 and then 14.3.1, and in both versions there is an intermittent issue:
Since I keep the fans at an RPM that I can't hear, I understand the CPU is running slightly hot and may shorten its life, and so when the device sleeps if Macs Fan Control stops a few seconds of high speed fan to cool it off by the macOS controllers makes sense and is fine - but, as I mentioned, when the issue occurs, the fans just keep running "interrupting" sleep unless I manually quit MFC. And this particular mac model - the fans are very annoyingly loud so often, I definitely want MFC running when I'm using it!! MFC is great I couldn't use the computer without it the fan noise is so irritating on this model. I also have both a 2014 MacBook Air mini and a 2022 M1 MacBook Air and don't use MFC on either as the fans are not annoying. The 2020 i3 is dreadful without MFC.
