If you wind up doing scans, I talked with realities to find something that provides a very high ceiling in quality, but doesn't crest the $1,000 barrier. They suggest this one

Hi Jay, that sounds good! Just to be sure, you are referring to the option with the lens (16-50mm) included, right?

Does not have the detachable lens, but realities.io said it was still a "high ceiling" option for you to start with.
