While searching for like-minded developers, I came across your post. Regarding my approach to facilitating OpenAI for proofreading, I have created a desktop tool as it accommodates most of my workflows: email, markdown (GitHub pages), OTRS tickets (trouble-ticketing system), Element messages, and sometimes even blog post replies :) You might find this useful as well, especially since you already seem to have an API key. It is still in the experimental stage in terms of functionality and design, but it operates reliably at its core:
