Philip wants the player to be able to change their feedback after supplying it. The text above the Likert scale changes, but is not very visible.
I agree that the prompt change is not visible (both Yuka and I missed it).
Maybe we can hide that section and replace with a Mahalo message that includes a link that says (Edit feedback), since I figure the common case is that people leave feedback and don't want to change it
I agree that:
(a) it should be clear when you submit feedback that something happened. (b) it should be possible to edit feedback later.
I don't know about replacing with a link. By displaying the current feedback, you are more inclined to notice that your opinion now differs, and more likely to change it.
But a better UI is definitely possible, no disagreements there.
I'm curious why we want to encourage people to change their feedback, especially since we'll only have the last opinion stored in the database? It seems very unusual to me to solicit feedback and then practically encourage people to change it. However, this is probably a discussion best suited for F2F discussion.
The short answer is that we first request feedback immediately after players have submitted their answers/verifications. This seems like the right time to request it, as the action is fresh in their minds. This isn't, however, the end of the process as admins could require revisiting the action etc. It could be that some players have addiitonal/different feelings by the "end" of the process in certain circumstances and want to amend their feedback.
This is something we can ask beta test participants about.
We have the history of the feedback in the logs. We could change the behavior to store the intermediate feedback values in the database if we want.
I think the logs are enough.
Sending feedback now generates a notification (dialog box) which mentions that you got points if you got points. Cam thinks that perhaps this is sufficient to make people aware that feedback has been submitted. Would like consensus on whether this is done or not.
After selecting a rating for an action and typing in feedback in the text box and clicking Submit, there is no indication that feedback has been sent, and the buttons and text in the box remain. Wouldn't it be better to hide the text box and buttons and replace it with "Mahalo for your feedback!" or something?
