Hydrotrend Ganges notebook hangs on initialize #152

Thr Hydrotrend Ganges notebook hangs on the call to initialize:

hydrotrend_GQ0.initialize(config_file, config_folder)

I've only tried this on the OpenEarthscape JupyterHub, CSDMS kernel, pymt=1.3.1.
