I just came across this package. I would really like to have some kind of Bible integration with Emacs. Right now I have a few shell scripts that use Diatheke to search Sword bibles, and I have the ESV installed in Sword, so I can do the searches locally. It seems like a bit of a step backward to do the searches and passage-retrievals online, though. Have you thought about using Sword and/or Diatheke?
Diatheke actually isn't great in some ways. For example, it's rather finicky in its argument parsing. But then it has some strengths, like being good at parsing passage references using different abbreviations.
Well, I don't know if this is even an active project anymore, but if it is, I'd be interested in talking about these ideas. :) Thanks.
