If we replace libcurl with functions provided by Glib, we might lose proxy server support c.f. https://github.com/csete/gpredict/issues/43#issuecomment-740579068

Currently awaiting feedback from users to see whether anybody needs support for proxy server.

User feedback indicates that people do use proxies, so we can not just remove support for it.
