If I export an adventure that includes actors which use wildcards for their token images, there is no error raised on export (though I didn't check the console), However, importing this adventure into a new world will result in these actors NOT being imported at all (they are simply missing from the actor list). Any actor which has a single, fixed token image IS imported ok.
