Falcor work #81

Creating a PR to track the work I'm doing while Yong is away.

This is a pretty major set of refactorings, working towards having the front-end accept a lot more HLSL than before. There's also a lot of infrastructure here that, even though only half-built, will hopefully help us add more complex functionality.

This line of development is breaking a lot of things, so there is going to be a painful transition when it comes time to bring this to mainline and try to get everything working again. I'm going to claim that most of these changes are necessary in the long run, though, and it is better to power through and get it over with.
