Installation Problem: Cannot find Xerces-c

Hello,

I am attempting to install crass on a fresh Ubuntu 12.04 install. I have installed all dependencies at the correct versions aside from libcrispr. When running ./configure I am getting the error Cannot find Xerces-c. I saw issue #64 was similar and attempted to follow those problems but I cannot get libcrispr to even find the Xerces C++ Parser headers. It says it looks in usr/include and usr/include/xercesc. I can see that the usr/include/xerces folder exists and I am able to run Xerces C++ sample code on random XML files. I tried installing Xerces-c using sudo apt-get install libxerces-c3-dev and libxerces-c3.1 and in both scenarios get exactly the same readout from ./configure. I don't know if for some reason I am missing a file in usr/include which is causing this issue. I have pasted the entire readout from ./configure below.
