The goal is to make the project look similar to how it will look (or is proposed to look) when merged with Lucene/Solr source.

Other changes?

better isolate the "one time conversion" code from the "this is how we'll keep the ref guide in git and build it moving forward" files/templates/themes/code

I made a number of changes here in PR #18. @hossman, perhaps you could take a look as a first pass?

forgot to cite issue #5 when making merge commit b35b108e1fb530be2f793ef0a1577eca8e71935d

I think we're pretty good here now, and can probably resolve this issue?
