appveyor provides free building service in windows for open source project. I tried r-appveyor in a test branch of ctmm, hope to reduce vignettes build time in development machine.
Result: vignettes need to be built with knitr, which is not available in default configuration. It will need more efforts to make it work, and the build task went to queue first, doesn't start immediately.
I feel the advantage of this method is not obvious now. Will revisit this when there is more need for build service in windows.
Also consider the rhub project for building packages before cran.
Temporarily closed since this is not high priority task now. Will reopen it when needed.
