Fixes #10 and #13 .

Review steps:

[ ] Make sure the fatal error described on issue #10 does not happen anymore
[x] Make sure there are no regressions on chart configuring and rendering
[x] Make sure Chart.js charts are responsive in different browsers, for both data entry and survey modes
