review all places where author-practitioner (AP) or the manuscript construction itself hint at either sequential or non-sequential composition. E.g.,

all continues/continued
continuation marks (look at editorial comments for these instances - https://github.com/cu-mkp/m-k-manuscript-data/blob/master/metadata/DCE_comment-tracking-Tracking.csv)
large gaps left on a page
marginal notes that squeeze around other headers or continue onto other pages
sections written by scribe where AP has overwritten with corrections

Related: places where it is clear the AP is building upon his previous work. E.g.,

mostly in the casting recipes, repeated trials of different sands and their additives where AP comments about previous mixtures
use of first person
