now the gpu driver in Linux has some bug. The Allwinner Company and Imagination Company have tried to solve it . We only can get a closed source binary for the PowerVR drivers
when it is ok, we can give you what we have .
@sunbeyond40
Thank you very much for reading and considering. Will expect this driver
@ovidiu31
the A80 linux image with gpu driver has been releaseed , you can download by this: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1hquyzB2#path=%252FModel%252Fcc-a80%252FImage%252FLubuntu%252FLinaro-v0.3
This driver just support OpenGL ES, : )
@sunbeyond40 hello thanks
but i see a whole image , are the gpu drivers available as stand alone package too somewhere here inside the code?
@sunbeyond40 and @keepace
Are these GPU drivers binary blobs of opengles/egl for X11 and framebuffer ?
because this is what i need to make the Openelec distro to run on this A80 hardware platform.
@ovidiu31 yes, these GPU Drivers are blobs of opengles/egl for X11 . Now we have only these OpenGLEs binary. next time you can exmail us by support@cubietech.com
Greetings
i am contacting you regarding of possibility of making with cubieboard A80 an good linux xbmc/kodi media center box. I would like to use openlec on my cubieboard a80 but sadly i am having trouble getting hardware gpu accelerated via xbmc/kodi linux.
Wondering and wanted to ask you if possible even for a closed source binary for the PowerVR drivers linux compatible. Tried a lot on sunxi community , tried with PoweVR developers but so far no luck at all ... an package based buildroot enviroment or something similar. I really would to contribute with my friends on helping A80 to be first choice for the popular distribution Openelec.
So far Openelec runing fine on imx6 and on amlogic platform mostly because they have provided some gpu hw accelerated drivers. If you could help us a bit with this stuff we could push A80 a little further.
Best regards Ovi
