Iceweasel backports / testing version? #364

I am helping a friend with his CubieTruck and would like to know if it's possible to add armfh backports or testing repositories from debian and update his Iceweasel version? I briefly had access to his system and we had some problems with repository signatures. I thought I'd ask here first.

The exact error was: E: GPG error: http://packages.debian.org wheezy-backports Release: The following signatures were invalid: NODATA 1 NODATA 2

(same for jessie, 404 for cubie.org base addresses)

Moreimportantly, I am wondering if doing this would break any of your customizations/optimization to the desktop.

Apologies for this, it seems there was a typo / wrong server name.

The following sources.list doesn't produce any error when doing an apt-get update:

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-backports main
deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://packages.cubian.org/ wheezy main non-free
deb http://repo.ajenti.org/debian main main debian
deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free

I'd still appreciate knowing if it's safe to install packages from backports on desktop Cubian.

I think it's the same risk whether it's a cubietruck or a full blown desktop with debian loaded on it. Worst comes to worst if you notice any artifacts you can always remove backports and roll back to stable.

Just install Iceweasel from wheezy-backports then remove it from source.list
