The Cubian X freezes on the installation's boot screen #370

I've downloaded the .torrent image of the CB A20's desktop version, for the Cubian X, twice from the identical .torrent. In both, the system freezes in initial installation screen, a with 'Cubian X' logo. I've tested copy the image to a 4gb sd card with image studio, renaming the .img extension to .raw, and with win32 disk imager, with .img, but the problem was the same. Thanks in advance.

Same issue here also with CB A20 and Cubian X desktop and nano versions.

The log is at tty2, press ctrl+alt+f2 to show the log. I will check if the image is damaged.

Hi everyone. I'm also facing the same problem. I entered the tty2; I'm attaching a photo of the output (sorry for the bad quality). The boot process gets stopped by some errors concerning the file system. The OS I have currently on NAND is Lubuntu 1.06. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can provide further help.

same issue its impossible to use Cubian now please, remove your logo (cb and ct devices usually buy geeks, not regular people) and let users do whatever they want

I have tested my device more than 30 times and it seems like cubian fails to boot at random place (it boots sometimes, lol). So, i think something wrong with img integrity

Sorry, no go for me. I'm trying to use the Cubie2 desktop download. Hangs around NFS common utilities. Wha??? NFS???? not needed.

Anyway:

[....] Starting NFS common utilities: statd
malloc: ../bash/execute_cmd.c:314: assertion botched
free: called with unallocated block argument
[ok ing... [....] Starting enhanced syslogd: rsyslogd.

hangs at this point.

cubian x images are broken just throw it away, developers simply don't care about this issue

Did -- found a better alternative. To bad this had promise.

It seems some batch of boards aren't stable at frequency 1092MHz. Follow this tutorial http://cubian.org/2013/09/18/fix-random-crash/ should resolve the problem. I tested on my board, and it's fine for me, maybe not suitable for everyone. You can use tools mentioned in this post to test if your board is stable. http://cubian.org/2014/07/05/resolve-stability-issue-on-cb2/

Aslo:

  1. buy a better SD card
  2. attach a heatsink to CPU.
  3. make sure exec sync command after dd
