How did you measure the ~ 12MB/s and is this bits or bytes?
But this are not really cubian or cubieboard problem, if you do a search for "debian samba speed" you will find something like: https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/speed.html
I can get 12 MB/s over samba with cubieboard 1, hitting hardware limit. If you never got over 100 Mbits/s I would suspect some soft limit.
Hey,
i have a problem with samba shares. They appear to be really slow! I use a GBit LAN and have tested the connection between the cubie and the remote pc with iperf. So practically 700MBit/s are possible, iperf showed. But samba shares only have ~ 12MB/s which are 100MBit/s... Sata HDD should not be the problem. How can i help identifying the problem ?
