One big thing that all of these sites have in common is that they feature illustrations very prominently. For this site I would need:
[ ] A logo (that doubles as a favicon). A simplified rendering of my Hector avatar makes the most sense to me.
[ ] Header images used at the top of each section of the site. These should be in a fairly narrow landscape format that can be collapsed on mobile.

[ ] Section symbols used in the footer to anchor the section you're looking at. These will probably be a callback to an element of the header, but extremely simplified so that they can be depicted very small. (At some point it might be useful to show a 'firehose' of all posts on the site, and the post type will be depicted by this symbol.)
