Uninstalled SMS Popup Full Screen Notifications still occurring. #278

I installed SMS Popup application on my HTC EVO Shift 4G phone, but even using
the custom configuration settings I could not suppress the full screen popup
notifications.

At that point I uninstalled the application, but I am still getting the full
screen popup notifications. I even went into the HTC messaging application and
suppressed ALL notifications. I use Handcent SMS for my SMS and MMS messages -
and it's notifications are working fine, but even with HTC's native messaging
app set for NO NOTIFICATIONS and with SMS Popup uninstalled I am still seeing
the full screen SMS notification popup from SMS Popup on EVERY TEXT MESSAGE.

I have attached a screen print from the Shift (which is running the latest
update of Android v2.3.3.

Any ideas or help to get rid of this popup screen would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Danny

Well, clearly no one has any ideas how to remove this nuisance application
remnants. My brother was at my home tonight and his wife kept calling my phone
trying to reach him, since she wasn't able to reach his phone - and the
smspopup screen came up every time she called on my phone (more than 6 times)
and we could never get past the popup screen to answer the call successfully.
Apparently I will have to factory reset my Shift 4G phone to finally get rid of
this problem. :(

*What steps will reproduce the problem*?
1. Install SMSPopup.
2. Enable SMSPopup and test-receive a few text messages.
3. Try disabling SMSPopup and see if, when you receive a text message, the
SMSPopup full-screen notification (popup) continues to occur whenever a new
text message, phone call, or MMS message is received (I do).
4. Uninstall SMSPopup and see if, when you again receive a text message, the
SMSPopup full-screen notification (popup) continues to occur whenever a new
text message, phone call, or MMS message is received (I also still do).

Problem occurs even if SMS Popup is disabled and continues even after uninstall.

*What is the expected output? What do you see instead*?
When SMSPopup is disabled, the full-screen.

*What version of the product are you using? On what operating system*?
SMS Popup version 1.1.0
HTC EVO Shift 4G (Sprint, non-Rooted) version 0005
Android version 2.3.3, HTC Sense version 2.1, Software number 2.76.651.6

*Please provide any additional information below*.
I didn't realize this was a problem until I attempted to disable SMS Popup, and
later to uninstall the application. I have since been forced to reinstall, and
re-enable the application, in order to answer incoming phone calls. If I do not
reinstall/re-enable the application, then when a phone call is received, SMS
Popup blocks the touch screen with a full-screen notification and pressing
*ANSWER* has no effect, while pressing *BACK* button on the phone does get rid
of the notification, it also declines the phone call. With the application
reinstalled/re-enabled I am, at least, able to answer incoming calls since the
*ANSWER* button on the SMS Popup full-screen notification does work to answer
the call.

*Other settings at time bug appeared*:
I used the default settings in SMS Popup, then added custom notification on the
first install. On the second install of the product, I used the default
settings (SMS Popup enabled) and no other customized settings besides the
defaults.

The screenshot you included is *NOT* SMS Popup, you must have another app
installed which is showing this.
