No vibration for new SMS

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Whether the phone is in silent mode or ringer mode, vibration for new SMS 
alert is not working.
2. I did testing with setting vibration option in always and only in silent 
mode, but for new sms no vibration.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When a new SMS comes, my phone Motorola Fire XT (XT 530) should vibrate, but 
instead it rings only. Vibration is working fine for everything else; I mean 
new call or if I touch any soft key it gives me response by vibrating. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Handset is Motorola Fire XT (XT 530), Operating System is Android 2.3.4
