Message counter on notification #338

Not sure how feasible it is, but it would be great if you can add a message 
count on the notification symbol, i.e. how many unread messages in the inbox.

It should already do this on pre-HC devices, Android OS disabled them after 
that so to implement I would have to roll my own (custom icons).
