Scenario: Patron identifies an available item in Blacklight from which they wish to request a scan of an article or chapter. In the item record, next to the “Request” button, there is a button for “Request scan of article/chapter.”
We envision that the request options would be similar to what is offered at Yale Library (see attached screenshot).
Patron selects “Request scan of article/chapter” button in Blacklight. The system would direct the patron to login to ILLiad; via OpenURL, Blacklight would populate the ILLiad article request form with the book or journal title and ISSN. Patron will need to manually complete the request with chapter/article details.
Result: More seamless request process for on-campus scanning service. The service is made more visible within the catalog, and scans from the Library Annex are more accessible.
