@JesiBuell79 I'd like to propose some changes to the Exhibit content owner, some of the feedback from Debbie include adding actual headers on pages to help navigation, which can alter the look.
Also, to add caption to some images that have information given in the image (noted above). This will also add alt text.
(I already reached out to Chloe about the correct way to request caption for the video on kaltura.)
Changing all those bold titles to headers on https://exhibits.library.cornell.edu/arachnophilia/feature/growing-spiders for example 'Spider Eggs' will change from this:
to this:
Thanks @sarah-cul - feel free to do that - I believe it's Eveline Ferretti's. You can do it now or wait until the next Spotlight sprint!
Eveline made all changes, the video has captions. Documentation is improving as well.

Changes:
[x] Main image on Spider Senses , add the following alt text: Jumping spiders have sharp color vision, including in the ultraviolet and enjoy almost 360 degrees of vision. There are almost as many species of just jumping spiders as all the world's mammal species combined!
not absolutely necessary, alt text is only needed if the image is not decorative. this image has a aria-role of presentation, the screen reader will be aware of that. Adding a caption will also add the alt text, this is something for content owner to decide. The image does have information written on it that is not in the text on the site, so its a good idea.
[x] Second large image on Fifty Shades of Spiders, need alt text.

[x] On the Press page Press , consider removing the embedded content and just add a description for each of the links, explaining what you will find if you navigate to this link. This will be much less complicated for people using screen readers. This is something for content owner to decide.
[x] Do the content owners provide transcription for videos or will we need to research tools to do this?
I inquired about the correct way to get a caption for this video in kaltura.
[x] Only certain HTML elements are focusable by default, such anchor links, buttons, and form controls. On some of the pages that Debbie found to have poor keyboard navigation we need to add tabindex to certain elements like div, span, or p so they can be focusable. A few of those pages likely don’t have any content at all if accessed only by keyboard and a screen reader.
need content owner approval to make changes like changing titles to headers where appropriate to help screen readers navigate
