EDS cannot find cut-off words
Example: Higher education students with disabilities speaking out: perceived barriers and opportunities of the Universal Design for Learn
“Learn” should be “Learning”, but our current Drupal search box cuts off citations at 128 characters. They tried to change it but “we are using Drupal's form API for this module, it would need to be completely rewritten and I'm afraid we don't have the resources to take that on at this time.” Summon was able to handle word cut offs.
Could be fixed by changing relevancy to SmartText searching, but this would hurt topic relevancy.
EDS cannot find misplaced spaces
Example: "Aspects of identity: From the inner-outer metaphor to a tetra partite model of the self"
If you search tetrapartite as one word EDS finds the article. Summon would find the article with the space included.
EDS cannot find phrases with alternative spellings
Example: The Good Tourist: An Ethical Traveler’s Guide
This is one where Traveler is actually spelled Traveller in the citation. Summon was generally able to handle these types of spellings.
EDS does not include publication date metadata in default keyword search.
Example "endothelial dysfunction" AND "dietary patterns" AND 2004
sent to support, they created ER #2149668

A search for Michel Foucault’s History of Sexuality,

I have received an update for this and received the following note regarding the Smart Text in the New UI:
Thank you for your feedback. While we don't have any immediate plans to incorporate this request, we might consider it at a later time as our Road Map progresses.
The ER has been closed for now but it's something they may add in the future.
