[feature request] paste URI/path to preview file #29

Closed paulvi closed 10 years ago

I use StartExplorer by @basti1302. I has copy path command for any file.

Now with #28 preview or #14 breadcump, I'd like to be able to paste&go that path/URI

I guess it can be "Paste&Go" button.

Other way can be Preview files mode. In which file content is shown, when a file is selected. But that raises much more new issues.

What do you think, Matthias ?

for the preview mode, please see my comment on issue 28 - I am not yet convinced into that.

regarding the copy path button. I have been thinking about that too. There is a key combination: Alt+O+DCtrl+C. I admit it is a long sequence and it leaves the explorer window open (Alt+F4). Another possibility is Shift plus right click in the explorer view itself. I won't be able to propose a button to copy the path of the file selceted inside the view, but only the location of the view (see back and forward buttons). Do you think its worth putting a button? I am always concerned with UI clutter...

I thought about tool icon for Paste&Go, now Copy seems good too.

Just do as simple as possible (e.g. no shortcuts)

As there is tool icon toolbar, that is almost often on separate line, there is no concern of lost space or clutter. Just maybe separator between arrows and Cope and Paste&Go block...
