Of course, this may be not the way you intended, but if #4 optional sync is done, having multiple instance and selectable path will create perfect file manager embeded in Eclipse.

A user can put two Views side by side. I wonder can drag-and-drop work in the case.

Breadcrump from #14 partly address this

Yes drag and drop would work. It would be easy to build a two pane file explorer on the basis of eExplorer. I think there are many great solutions out there for Windows and even some cross-platform, like http://www.mucommander.com/ IMHO the added value of these file managers comes from bookmarking, ftp integration, quick filters, ... My intention is not to build such a file manager. If anyone is tented - just fork ;-)

For what it's worth, it is possible to get multiple eExplorer tabs currently (at least on my Mars installation). I can open the view once, then open it again from another perspective and drag the new one over next to the original. I do find it necessary to drag it to an existing pane as a tab, then drag that tab again to get side-by-side panes.

There's not much benefit to doing so, at least unless someone forks the project to make it more of a file manager than a quick convenience thing, but it is possible.
