as an player i want to get rid of the "glow" effect of the game

z2sam reminded us, the issue is annoying and can hurt the eyes

i demand that this be considered a bug since on many drivers/video cards it seems to be so bad you can barely even define the borders of the pieces.

the game should not look so drastically different between my PC and my mac os laptop (where there is zero glow/haze around the pieces)
