On tdil.curationexperts.com we used the libreoffice ubuntu package: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LibreOffice. Probably libreoffice-impress would be sufficient, but I have not tested this idea.
The system uses openoffice/libreoffice for the PowerPoint and PDF exports. So it may also require the wordprocessing piece, libreoffice-writer.
Thanks, I think libreoffice-writer and -impress require core and ure, so hopefully those four will do it.

Through testing we've noticed that there is a dependency on open office being installed for the PDF output, there are alot of packages involved in open office and its dependencies (~100?) and our Enterprise Infrastructure group is reluctant from a patching perspective to install and patch them all. Was there just a subset of packages you installed to get this going on your side?
