Is this story requesting that it be possible to reorder child collections in the tree view? If so, how should the new order behave with all the images that aren't shown in the tree view (i.e. where do the images that aren't shown go)? If not, I think these are already done, but whoever grabs this story should confirm.

This story is asking to allow the nesting to be managed in the sidebar, which include some of the ordering, but not the ordering in relation to images. Changing nesting behavior should behave similarly* to how you would achieve the new nesting structure manually. If you restructure the tree

  1. the collection is deleted from the order in it's existing parent
  2. the collection is added as the first item after it's new target a. If the collection is added as a sub-collection to a higher-level parent, it should be added at the beginning of the parent collection
    b. if the collection is added after another child at the same level, it should be added immediately after that child
  3. Oder of sub-collections along with images within a particular collection is still handled within the collection show view a. reordering sub-collections within the collection view is reflected in the sidebars when the user returns to a search view b. the sidebar view only shows collection order relative to other collections in the tree; collections may or may not have images before, after or between sub-collections at the same nesting level

collection nesting - 49

I finished reading Skype... I'm really trying to just figure out the simplest, most consistent way to do this. If it's easier, you can just alphabetize the top level personal collections for "My collections" instead of creating a hidden top-level container. I don't think there's a need to reorder personal collections at that level - it's certainly not in the SOW.
