My account was activated today, Monday 2/12 (I requested on Thursday 2/8). You can pretty easily sync up with GitHub.

It's kind of tricky getting shared storage space set up to the extent it might be better to do cleaning locally. So maybe we actually want to use this for later stages of the project when we are training models and want GPU access, etc.
